| Abstract | The Expert System, also referred to as the Knowledge-based System, is based on the knowledge of not only models and data, but more emphasizing on the experiences of domain experts. It consists of a Knowledge base, an Inference Engine Interpreter, etc. In this paper, several real-used approaches of knowledge representation and expert system tools are proposed in my lab. These approaches and tools have been applied successfully to agriculture in China, such as adequate fertilization, plant protection, cultivation, water resource management and irrigation, raising and managing of livestock and poultry. They can be used in sustainable development, management monitoring and the administration support of grasslands as well. We also have done and are continuing to conduct research on integrating technology of Expert Systems with Neural Network, Machines Learning, Genetic Algorithms, Case-Based Reasoning, Object-Oriented Programming, Multimedia, etc. --author's abstract | ||
