Abstract Discusses the uneven spatial distribution of population in Indonesia relative to the physical and technical infrastructure. This uneven urbanization level, combined with highly centralized decision-making, leads to uneven distribution of foreign direct investment. The management style of transnational corporations is discussed, together with their impacts on regional development, including generation of employment.
