Guide to Federal Records in the National Archives of the United States

This resource comprises the basic records of the executive, judicial, and legislative branches of the Federal Government and consists of millions of documents in paper, film, and electronic form that illustrate the workings of a democracy. The documents, conveying as much information about the citizens served as they do about public service, are preserved in 27 archival repositories and Presidential libraries managed by the National Archives and Records Administration at sites across the nation from Anchorage, Alaska, to Waltham, Massachusetts.
