Title | Descriptive Catalogue of the Government Publications of the United States, September 5, 1774-March 4, 1881 (Poore) |
Coverage Dates | 1774-1881 |
Notes |
Referred to as "Poore." This was the first attempt as cumulating US government publications. It is riddled with
errors, omissions, and has been characterized as weak in its coverage of departmental (executive) documents.
It is a chronological list without an effective index. Poore does not include Serial Set numbers for Congressional
reports or documents. For more accurate coverage of this period, consult the Checklist. Ames picks up coverage in 1881 where Poore leaves off. |
